Data Literacy Program in the Summer Semester 2025

In the summer semester of 2025, the Data Literacy (DaLiJe) project will once again offer various opportunities for students to enhance their digital and data competencies.

These offerings are designed to be flexible, allowing students to participate according to their individual interests and time availability.

Hands-on Sessions

Each 90-minute Hands-on Session focuses on a specific topic related to data and digitalization or provides a brief introduction to useful digital tools for working with data.

Topics range from critically evaluating statistics and AI in everyday life to managing tabular data, data visualization methods, and short introductions to programming languages. A full list of all Hands-on Sessions is available on our information page.

Students from all disciplines are welcome to participate. The sessions are specifically designed for students with little or no prior experience working with data.

The Hands-on Sessions can be attended individually or as part of the Data Literacy Jena certificate program.

Data Literacy Jena (DaLiJe) Certificate Program

The Data Literacy Certificate Program (DaLiJe) offers all interested students the opportunity to engage more deeply with topics related to data and digitalization.

The first level of the certificate program consists of an online self-learning course, providing a broad introduction to the fundamentals of data handling and its significance for research and society. Additionally, students must complete Hands-on Sessions that explore specific tools and methods in greater depth.

For the second level, we have integrated additional modules from various study programs, which students from all disciplines can enroll in and count toward the certificate.
